Productivity system (1)

I tried most digital systems and some paper based and after a lot of experiments I now use:
  • Google Calendar for events fixed in time (I go by GTD's methodology here)
  • GMail with filters for Check Tomorrow, Work, School, Personal, Waiting on, Reference and Read Later. All mail comes in Check Tomorrow except those sent to my work address (that goes to Work). I use Do It Tomorrow's methodology to handle my Check Tomorrow mail and everything that's not important goes to Read Later (when I take a pause from work / I want to relax).
  • I also use a txt file that holds all my TODO lists with categories similar to GTD. I email the file daily after I finish work (or keep the last day's file in case nothing changed). I don't want to keep the list online as I prefer managing everything from my computer (which is backed up daily)
Here's a sample:

@Rule1 I'm trying to keep this week/month
@Rule2 e.g. Drink 1l of water / day OR Check where the 80/20 rule applies in my life

@ACTIVE PROJECT (something that was on my list for way too long)
@CLOSED LIST
- things I'll do today (ideea from Do It Tomorrow)
@INBOX
@ERRANDS
@WORK
@SCHOOL
@HOME
@SHOPPING
@WAITING ON
@SOMEDAY/MAYBE

The list doesn't get too big because I use the ACTIVE PROJECT to do things I'm not keen on doing.
